The hotel staff were an absolute credit to you. Everyone was so very helpful during my recent business trip for two days. I was unwell on my first night and asked for some ice and water. A very polite young man came over with the ice and Chris from reception brought the water. The next evening the manager of the restaurant asked how I was feeling, as well as Chris on reception. The food was outstanding. The hotel rooms were immaculate and the surroundings were beautiful. I hope to be cone back soon with my partner. Liz sherwood.
Excellent staff, all of whom did whatever was needed to make our stay fabulous. The pool was the best indoor pool I have swum in - during the children's time, swimming remained a pleasure. The spa treatments were professional and well done. We stayed in the huge room "Cleeves" above the restaurant in the old house - noise wasn't too much of a problem. They gave us that room because we asked for a long bed. The 15 Century ceiling beams were very low but the bed was great. The room service menu was really good and we used it twice. Breakfasts can carry on in the lounge area (or outside) with papers even after everything has been cleaned up.
The restaurant's quality is very uneven - I think it is a lottery on who is cooking. The best chef is very good but the other cooks are not. The hotel is quite isolated - after swimming, treatments, croquet and going for a walk there isn't much more to do. The road into Haslemere is dangerous to walk on (we didn't have a car) but I now discover there is a right-of-way out the back which is quite direct and provides walking access to the towns round about.
We had a good room for the price payed, but in addition to the accommodation guests were allowed free access to the spa which meant we had terrific value for our money. Guests are also offered the option of checking out late to enable over-night visitors the chance to use the facilities.
I was a little disappointed in the cooked section of the breakfast , but other snacks and afternoon tea purchased at the hotel were excellent.
The room was excellent and very big, we got upgraded as it was a birthday weekend away for my girlfriend, food was outstanding and great pool, treatments were lovely and not too expensive, definately worth a stay. Staff were very friendly and attentive, 10/10 a fabulous relaxing break
Bathroom just a bit tired, needs a spruce up!
Very nice property, friendly staff, very good restaurant
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful. Excellent choice for breakfast.
Felt it a bit misleading to describe the facilities as a spa - there is only a pool, jacuzzi, steam room (which was out of order) and a sauna. Would have expected various other "rooms" eg laconicum, tepidarium etc.
Really good value for money, lovely location and extremely comfortable bed.
Bathroom could have been a little bit more luxurious - all a bit dated and there were some cracked tiles and little bit of mold around the floor, which let down an otherwise lovely room.
Geographically well placed. Friendly staff. Spa.
Room we had was not as well appointed as the previous time we spent there. Did not feel what we paid was good value.Shower leaked. Only one pillow on bed each.
Good location with Haslemere nearby.
Restrictive check out rules, not even flexible to one hour. on our first morning out of a three days stay we were served freh from the kitchen al carte breakfast, the remaining mornings the breakfast was buffet style and and disapointingly the cooked breakfast was cold.
Location was fantastic and nice and quiet.
One member of breakfast staff on first day did not appear to be that friendly, but all the others were great.
rooms good and clean. .
Restaurant has old rooms with beams and modern room at front. Put in the modern room and felt like second class citizens restuarant expensive hotel lakes a heart - reception, then rooms, then seperate restaurant, and seperate spa bar area poor
Plenty of room. Air conditioning quickly reduced temperature. Nice large bathroom. Remote location. Breakfast selection was good and staff friendly
Some noise from corridor outside room, but to be fair the hotel was full of wedding guests. Double bed was made up of two single mattresses so uncomfortable down the middle. Restaurant prices inflated so went out for dinner.
The food was substandard - roast beef was impossible to be cut never mind chewed!!!! and the vegetables were cold and totally undercooked!! We did tell our waiters who offered us alternatives but as we were invited guests to a wedding function we did not want to upset our hosts who were paying a substantial amount for the event. Very disappointing!! because all other aspects of our stay were good.
Everything about the hotel was excellent, from the maintenance of the wonderful old buildings to the freshness and design that made it feel luxurious and yet cosy. The staff were uniformly superb, always taking that extra bit of care. Great location, great food, great service.
very disappointing sandwich for its price
